Church on Highway 12

Dripping Springs, TX, 2013

In collaboration with Anna Katsios

This community building and landscape accommodate a range of activities for a rural congregation. Faith and fellowship are accessible to seasoned parishioners and the shyly curious by giving equal consideration to worshiping, hiking, baptisms and barbecues.

The main church is a set of four non-heirarchal spaces, both indoor and outdoor, described by five stone volumes. Large sliding doors open to the surrounding meadow. An outdoor chapel and two overnight retreat cabins are connected by paths across the twelve-acre site. A roadside fruit stand provides face to the community passing by.
